Lightbulb rapt.fm competes with LB

I know what your thinking, why are you on this website if your using it to promote a competing website? Answer: I'm not, I just wanna raise a few points, I prefer Lets Beef. I want to help it improve and I have made suggestions in this article to help it do so.

For those who don't know, Rapt.fm is a website where EMcees can compete in a freestyle over web cams, they can rap over many instrumentals that come from Drake, Lil Wayne, and most mainstream artists' songs, they compete in a 45 second round. rapt.fm is currently in Alpha stage and only becomes active on monday and wednesday nights. It has many things different to what Lets Beef offers.

The areas in which rapt.fm has been marketed are different to LB and I think they play on what lets beef has been lacking to gather an audience not intentionally though, they just came with a different approach. Already they have received articles and videos by top bloggers and tabloids and they are still in Alpha. However, in terms of the marketing; for one you won't see someone comment on a smackurl/kotd/dont flop video with 'spam' comments, that ask you to come to the website...isn't a good look in my opinion, puts the website beside people posting links to surveys and makes it look like its dying to the point where you are forced into spamming comments. In addition to this, the rapt.fm competitions are done through YouTube, they get the user to share with facebook friends, this means that there is a great chance for your average person to get involved through facebook or youtube because their friends or fellow users are promoting it. Rapt.fm have more rewarding prices for their winners, if you won their newest competition you got to open for Mos Def & Royce Da 5'9. Of course we can expect something that big but it seems they are taking it up a notch.

An area which they rapt.fm also bring something new is the webcam element, you have to memorise your writtens or properly freestyle as opposed to this website where you can easily do writtens. In addition to this, any instrumental vs beat disc? I think thats a clear winner.

In conclusion, Lets Beef you got some serious competition a head of you, I suggest better promotion in terms of making youtube competitions-would help the lets beef channel. I suggest, more appeal to music makers, dedicate a section to those up and coming artists/producers so they can share their music and make collabs, the forums will be helpful for them as they could find people who have skills in photoshop/photo manipulation to handle mixtape covers, I don't think uploading tracks to your profile is good enough as they will be harder to discover. I also suggest eliminating hate voting-if you have evidence of a hate voter you can appeal and if you show correct evidence that they hate voted, they get 10 or so points removed from their account. I have much more suggestions, if you would like to hear them feel free to PM me, thanks.
