I agree it's your opinion. I just wanted to get to the root of your strong feeling. It's sad to see people thrown out on the street, nobody wants to see that, but there are 2 sides to every coin. For instance, I'm sure you're aware the mines were owned by the tax payers, and that the mines were ran at a huge loss, not to mention miners were always going on strike, sometimes asking for unreasonable pay rises, some up to 30 percent. So not only were these mines running at a loss plunging us into the red while they were open, the minors were closing up shop to strike to demand ridiculous rises plunging us even deeper into the red as well as cutting off supply because they were closed. something had to give.

What I'm saying is. Though it's sad. It was a stand off, the pro's and cons were weighed up and the minors lost.
