It all starts with the writing douchebag.

Get Shorty, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, Misery, The Shining, The Color Purple, The Godfather, Jaws, My Fair Lady, Forrest Gump, A Clockwork Orange, Perfume, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.

All based on books. But the point I was making is that I don't think anyone should be able to adamantly defend a film for its greatness without knowing the literary foundation of it. Anyone that's seen Shawshank Redemption, says it's the best film ever made, but when asked about the book goes "There's a book?" can go fuck themselves to be honest.
