Default Moreover on my toilet iPod classic saga...

@RULE - don't know if this happened to you when you did it.

Had been 3 days since I put the iPod into the bowl of rice. So I took it out and plugged it in today. It tried real hard to stay on the normal charging screen, with the light flickering, then it went to the Apple symbol then it turned off.

Left it a little longer, opened it up and found the foam padding was still moist. I stuck a hairdryer on it until it was dry. Closed it again. Left it to cool.

Now when I plug it in, it comes up with a dim black and white screen. One of the "No Entry" symbols, IOW the circle with the line through it is flashing, with the words "Do not disconnect" at the bottom. There is a line at the top, above the line in the top right corner is the battery symbol in a charging state.

Apparently, this means it has survived. Now all I need to do is restore it. And error 1439 won't allow it to restore. I've tried rebooting, putting it into disk mode, trying diagnostic boot mode etc.

Anyone been in this position and re-formatted and restored their iPod successfully?

Looking at you, RULE.
