"The Runner"

Pop! Pop! Fireworks arched high above, raining colors
Over the giant Olympic stadium containing wonders
A rare, almost eerie silence filled the space between blasts
Seemed fast, for only a few minutes did the scene last
She stood in the middle; trim, fit, mighty athletic
Her curves ran in ways that were highly aesthetic
She was afraid, her stomach full of butterflies
This girl was such a prize to watchful, other eyes
It was her first time doing any event as such
Standing in a place she knew she wasn't meant to touch
She didn't earn the spot, dodged her competitors' patrol
But she was ready to run like messengers of old
Could she keep pace? That would be her defining instance
Finding distance to stay ahead with a blinding quickness
Frantic thoughts exploded in her mind like thunder breaking
Poor performance would prove her illegal undertaking
Only one man knew of her true criminal action
It was he who helped her create this livable passion,
Made the visuals happen, and she loved every moment
Fear and pleasure mixtures made the memory potent
Flowing energy opened, their attraction palpable
Between love and lust, clothing unfastened casual
They gazed into each other's eyes as they exchanged glances
Then suddenly: sirens - both hurriedly changed stances
Awkward and clumsy as strange dances, they dressed and sprinted
Now was her time to run, exactly the test predicted
They ran across the empty openness with tired smirks
Of course the police had noticed the fireworks
Luckily, the man knew many shortcuts and secrets
He worked there, visits to this fortress were frequent
He promised her something great, so they snuck in late
But he raised the stakes ten-fold and started shoving fate
Bleachers seemed endless and without a single resident
She felt as nervous as if she had seen the president
Told her to wait as he prepared an amazing surprise
Chasing supplies to create brightness like a blazing sunrise
Activated a portion of the pyrotechnic display
Automated, they watched the flaming majestic ballet
As he held her tightly, their lips pressed close together
And they let loose with each other in hopeful pleasure

The arena filled with officers, shouting, searching
Scouting, cursing, frustration increasing; howling, lurching
They hadn't found anyone or anything suspicious
Based on evidence, the culprits were fictitious
With no leads, it was blamed on automation breakdown
And the couple enjoyed other exciting nights in their great town
