Illokwent vs Path
I went with Illokwent because of the way that he went into detail and gave examples about how to improve the content. it was a clear cut explanation that was objective. it's harder to judge below-par battles in my opinion. Path, you had the right idea, but the expo wasn't as polished. i really liked how you gave an example of an issue and followed with a personal account that gave light to how to solve it though. both did well, but think of it this way. the more simple/un-refined a battle is, the less the battlers will understand a blown out expo. simple=simple. follow-up with them later, but they're not going to understand or grasp it all at once.
BP Pride vs Shinigami
I went this direction on this battle, however i agreed with both expos. BP focused on the reasoning behind the vote more than actual pointers which is great, the aim is to be an accurate voter. Although both of you were right, BP got the decision correct (rankings and all).
Phenomonon vs Student
This decision was based on how constructive the feedback was. Both had rather long expos, but in the case of the two battlers it was needed lol Student just put things more eloquently and his line for line expo really solidifies votes because it's completely objective to the work the writers put out.
Feedback for all -
-I have a problem with general terms like 'work on complexity' or anything that's THAT general. Complexity in what? the rhyme scheme? the content? it's gotta be direct and concise information or you're going to confuse the fuck outta someone.
-Quoting bars. Some of you need to stop quoting entire verses. Explain the bars and keep shit simple. they know what they wrote, just preface it with "First Line:", "Next Line:" etc or "the i did ja mamma line:" we're dealing with newer cats that'll easily get lost in translation. i'd like to see some of these long long expos consolidated. that's what the PM are for.. follow-ups!
Great job everyone. I didn't vote on any DPS bouts, but Good luck to everyone in the upcoming rounds.
