Trying To Weather The Storm
I check the clock & rush to the window. In the distance I can hear the wind go, so many thoughts rush through my temple but none are simple.
I don't have much time, & I must come to acceptance. Because soon I will feel it's presence.
It is the storm that will leave me in disarray. Oh, how I miss the day when the safety inside the eye of the storm was just a kiss away.
But for now I prepare for the violence that will insue. Outside the rain strengthens & the wind too. I fear what is about to spin through.
So I get on my knees & say a prayer. But I can feel the hair on the back of my neck stand & I begin to stare at the door whose opening I beware.
Once the storm bust through the doors I'm doomed. Outside thunder boomed & objects being thrown by the wind zoomed.
The storm was in the yard approaching the doorstep. I begin to pour sweat...
...Silence...Has the storm showed mercy tonight? Have I been spared the fright?
BBLLLAAAOOOWWW! The door flys open & the storm charges me. It attacks me so brutally, it's no artistry.
I take a beating & am left in despair. I'm unconscious & completely unaware that the storm is about to give me more than a scare.
With one final blow, my life is stolen from me. But what else did I expect as I sat in my home waiting numbly?

& if it's not apparent so far, the storm is my husband coming home from the bar.
He's in a drunken state & violent rage. Yet I just sit at home waiting in a silent stage.
Why? Because I miss the time in the eye of the storm. The time when there was peace in every form & his love was so warm.
But he finally had found Satan in a glass of patron. Then he decided to bring Satan back to home & send me off to heaven all alone.
