His concept of the soul was the ability to reason, and evaluate our actions, as well as to look beyond ourselves into the future, to plan, etc. And all of those capacities are that of the mind, which is, what I would imagine to be, as well as presume his own stance on the matter to be of the construct of the chemical reactions in our brain.

Most people consider the soul to deal with less concrete things metaphysically they approach it as a reasonable explanation for emotions, but those very same human emotions are again, linked to the chemical reactions constantly happening in our brains.
