i agree with K about the audio being a stepping stone, because thats been my experience...the thing ppl dont realize is text verses are 100% different from audio verses...the structure, the set up, the syllable count, everything...ppl think its as easy as turning on a mic but thats when they get their wake-up call...just like audio has its different aspects and elements (delievery, presence, does it flow, ect) so does text (multi, wordplay, setups) and each aspect is greatly underappreciated
i made the switch from text to audio - in my mind a little too early bc i was just tapping into my text potential, but thought i could run with it...which i did for alittle but i think definitely has hindered me...just like audio, your text will only get better the more you do it...which is where a lot of you audio heads need to focus on...you think bc you have the audio elements down, and bc you can cover your tracks with good quality and plugins, that you dont need to focus on lyrics anymore...go hang up your shit now bc youre a joke if you believe that
if you want to be good at this, you need to practice every aspect, religiously
