Personally, I rarely vote on audio battles because I'm not too experienced in them. When I do vote on them, I make a holistic judgement, which is always dependent on the specifics of the situation and can't really be given in general terms.

However, if I had to quantify how I balance execution and writing, I wouldn't prioritise either. Imagine execution (mic presence, flow etc) gets one total mark out of 10. Then writing quality (punches, wordplay, rhyming etc) also gets a total mark out of 10. Multiply each of those together. This means that someone that is all-round is better off if both emcees are equally skilled in total (5x5>9x1). If it was a case of 9-1 vs 1-9 in terms of delivery-writing then it would just come down to which I subjectively preferred.

But again, any rigidly mathematical algorithm takes away from the point of rap battling, because it isn't a science, its an art.
