Default Text Pro/Am Tournament #1 SIGN-UPS

is proud to present

The Inaugural Text Pro/Am Tournament

Prizes: 200 Credits & a Ring Item from the emcee shop, courtesy of Guts, and The Satisfaction of Winning

Have you ever seen one of those films where an old pro who has fallen from grace redeems themselves by helping an up-and-coming underdog rise to the top? Well given that you probably lead busy and difficult lives you are unlikely to ever become either of these roles, but the Pro/Am Tournament is here to help you live those fantasies out through a tournament! The tournament is a completely new format that will see site veterans teamed up with newer, less experienced members who they will help and advise.

Who should enter?
Veterans: The more experienced, successful, revered battlers on the site. If you have or ever have had a tournament title, LBA, LBT, moderator or admin tag below your name, or have been active on the site since before about 2015, or just generally feel like most of the people who have would think of you as a veteran, this applies to you.
Up-and-comers: Really anyone who has joined in the past 12 months or so is encouraged to apply. If you somehow meet one or more of the criteria to be a veteran despite having joined so recently then you count as a veteran, but otherwise this is your chance for a tournament win early in your career!

What are the rules?
The general idea and spirit of the tournament is that the up-and-comers write the verses with advice, feedback and information from the veteran they are partnered with. Obviously as a new format run through the forums the capacity for cheating is great and it would be pretty easy for the veteran to just write the verse; so if you're considering signing up to do this please don't ruin it for everyone else. The exact specifics and regulations of rules are open for suggestions from those wanting to participate and will be finalised closer to the time. The general format of the tournament will be an 8-bar text tournament with match-ups and deadlines communicated through forum posts. Teams will stay consistent throughout the tournament and the winners will be a team.

When is it?
At the moment the dates (and even whether it takes place at all) will depend on how many people sign up. Ideally it will be held in June, after the Text Concept Tournament but before the Text Tag Team Tournament.

Wow, this sounds like an awesome tournament, where do I sign up?
Sign up with your name below, and also whether you're going in as a veteran or an up-and-comer. This will probably be pretty obvious already but this way if I disagree with you its easier to have the discussion and sort it out at the time. If a particular veteran and up-and-comer want to sign up specifically as a team they can both signal that they want to do this in their sign-ups and I will pair them up, otherwise match-ups will be random.

Sign-ups:
(Format: "Veteran | Up-and-comer"; this is not the teams you are in, it is just the order in which you signed up)
  1. @Shodan | @Bone Daddy
  2. @exwhyzee |
  3. @Edgeworth | @Solo Fives
  4. @Lil Kilo | @Culture
  5. @Rai | @ColossalMini
  6. @g u t s | @Ice Bear
  7. @BURDENS |
  8. @Gamma Vile |
  9. @CakedOut |
  10. @GOOD GRIEF |
  11. |

Anyone with any further questions should message me or post them on this thread. Good luck to all participants!
