Even though it's unrelated, I wanna point something out:-

does 'hanna ring any bells'?i bet you OUTTA KNOW YA EX'S,plus i have a 'hunch, back in the day',she 'bumped ugly'wit ALL OF THOSE U FRIENDED,wit no AUDIO PRESENTED,ever since then you been LOST IN FULL DEPRESSION,and 'tryin to get over this hump',same way QUASIMODO DRESSES!/

I've always talked about my hatred for the reference style, but this is a perfect example of why it sucks. So the concept behind the reference style is to add in more references to the punchline. So in this situation, ILLo has added "hunch back, bumped ugly and trying to get over this hump". The problem however, is that you know the ending of the punch as soon as you get to hunch back.

Part of writing a bars is that you're supposed to have a sort of comedic delivery. The punchline to the joke is supposed to come out and as it does, you're supposed to have an element of surprise to it. But in this case, since we know the ending 2 lines before, you're basically just layering on shit to the top of it which makes us wait forever for it.

Also Subreal is right on that wordplay Rant. Nothing to do with punctuation. They just don't work both ways.
