The way you & bleu put this is really softening my previously unbending opinion on this topic, so dont think this well put stance is going to waste at all- however I think using that in cases like this (Exact wordplay specifically) is being extremely liberal, as then battle rap is as simple as researching the best shit you can either slightly change or just tack a sentence onto a plagiarised crescendo with. That's more research than it is writing-

In a science as exact as wordplay, using another persons EXACT idea with no alterations to their crescendo and then parading it as your own because you referenced it in a cool way is just shady, dishonest bullshit to me- though simply letting a concept inspire you and not riding the coattails of the person who originally had the idea is perfectly fine with me, which basically justifies it in most elements of hiphop other than something as exact as wordplay. Is that better put or still in conflict with your position?
