Implying you don't know those are called trichomes. Stop reaching and making it seem like you did when clearly you didn't.

If you knew they were trichomes, your sentence would've been worded something like this "Did they used to call the crystalline granules with sugar consistency on buds anything before they called them trichomes? Or was it just not focused on"

Or "Did they used to call ______ ? We call them trichomes"
