It's all tastes and preferences. There shouldn't be some set formula for judging battle verses, let alone setting them up, that's why there's multiple judges, multiple opinions. I do think some battlers could be a little more open minded though. A good few of people probably learn rapping a fair amount here, so they're easily influenced.
Think context of a real battle. Ali was usually not praised for his haymakers. He had speed (a barrage of weaker but hard punches) and endurance. He had tactics and creativity. Different elements matter to different people—the vast majority being punches which is understandable, but it may tilt your scales a little bit too far.
