Its because multi intensive writing emulates rhythm when read, imo. Rhythm is something that lacks insanely in the text league. Most of the time an emcee with ultra fluid forms of writing starts text battling he's instantly placed among the dope, sure. But guess what? You can break the multi style down like this exactly like you can break the punchline style down. You can make anything sound unimpressive and skilless.
The hilarity in the more punch-heavy battlers talking shit against the multi heavy battlers is that 70% of the time you can't do what we do.
We can entertain a rhythm and carry lines effortlessly while incorporating a MULTITUDE of punches, while the alternative style is just setup>punch setup>punch over and over again. To me, the second is the most uncreative.
You can make an irrelevant complex bar about anything. But guess what? It's still irrelevant bullshit. Sure, you can incorporate a homophone inside a multi set but how is that dope when you have to fucking reference the most obscure stupid random shit to pull it off?
