The professor sat by lamplight, quickly working
Within this fortress, blueprints emerged and then converted to something less important
His pencil stormed, and mental force had kept it whirling
Not until the morning could he end this torture... but can't let even Death disturb it

Calculated a dimension's orbit... effects hither unknown to man
And then, within a moment's grasp, Dr. Zimmer was shown the facts
His abode... no set structure, changed form, he could tell nothing, was his brain warped?

Penned something... take more notes... make it known... no!
Hit the desk in anger, meditated, restful changes, entertainment
Remember days of better makeup... knew they'd respect the greatest but I never made it
Jealousy, my sole vice, did I fail to go right? This mystery... unsolved questions
I jot methods but the changes of these walls... endless... a problem beyond men, then?
Beyond me at least, crumpled drawings laid in heaps of these, seemingly meet defeat

Slowly, I read my colleague's paper... stopped and savored his awesome data
My own career going down the drain, so I plagiarized it
Sent it to a journal, maybe they would buy it, and I'd never be caught since I changed the title

Did it work from within?
Mental strain was massive... could he rest and maybe hack it?
