The Amazing Spiderman films are far superior than the original trilogy. But, yes, with the creative license allotted to Marvel, this has the capacity to become a much more storied series for Sony, making it all the more profitable for them. Marvel has done a fantastic job creating, and maintaining an elaborate cinematic universe for themselves.
