There's no natural feel to it, I mean you know for a 100% FACT it's staged and no one is, most of the time, even really getting hurt. I also understand that it's simple entertainment, but my question is /how/ is it entertaining to you?

With wrestling every single factor is predefined. There's no spontaneity, nothing is natural, nothing is even real. 80% of the time no one gets hurt and at the end of the day it's just a bunch of dudes on a white mat flipping around aimlessly trying to make it seem like they are hurting someone else.

What do you personally enjoy about that? I mean, with actual acting in TV shows/movies they're at least, almost 98% of the time (in AAA films, at least) actively covering up anything that could make it look fake, using hundreds of thousands of dollar budgets for effects & greenscreens and hiring the best actors on the planet to portray their story. So, maybe if wrestling was super realistic and you couldn't see the fact hardly no 'moves' even touch the other person half of the time, and the other half it is in a manner obviously meant to deal the least amount of damage, maybe then would I be able to immerse myself in it and just enjoy the raw entertainment value of it, but that's demonstrably not the case.

So, why do you personally enjoy wrestling?
You know it's not real because it's not. Rocky isn't real either, yet it's one of the greatest film series' of all time. The punches look fake as fuck in Rocky, does that change anything?

Wrestling, a lot of the time, is like a cross between television shows with their storylines, films like Rocky with their fighting and daredevil stunts with it's high flying. I don't really see what's not to like about all of that.

80% of the time no on gets hurt? What an insanely dangerous sport that would be. One in Five gets hurt? FUUUUUUCK THAT. You don't want the dudes to get hurt.

You get immersed in the show. You talk about the money they put into green screens and shit, yeah, in 2015. Does that mean classic films aren't still good? Don't you still get immersed despite knowing this T-Rex isn't ACTUALLY trying to eat Jeff Goldbloom? I don't look for guys getting full forced punches in the face when I watch wrestling, just like I don't look for a 450 splash when I watch mixed martial arts. They are separate things.

Also if you want to talk about "doesn't look real"...

For the record I think CZW is fucking disgusting and an absolute disgrace, but if you're looking for "real", just know when watching this video that CZW would laugh in your face is you suggested using fake blood.
