how does it make sense to oppose slavery but condone being cruel to gay people? the concepts are the same - discriminating based on something that has nothing to do with the character of the individual- just shallow judgements based off surface characteristics
i see what you mean...but...

there are religious reasons why someone may oppose gays. in most religions, homosexuality is frowned upon.
