Erebus, you and Obey put on a personals clinic, in easily one of the best round one battles of recent time. How do you feel about the battle in general?

I feel like Obey was mean to me, and I'm not happy about it. I provided him with a wealth of knowledge, and he returns this by making fun of me for wanting to be like RULE. I had split personalities first. I liked pro wrestling first. THIS IS BULLSHIT! ...But yeah, it was dope and congrats to Obey. He better win it now!

Me too RULE, i mean Ere. Next round is another all AC battle. The winner is likely to be your crew sole representative in the deeper stages of the tournament. Do you think either has a true shot at GC-hood?

I don't think they're the favourites. With what happened at the start of the year, we won't continue our streak of improving our rankings every time. All I'm looking for is for the guys to surprise some people. Agonize and Phe had fell off a lot lately. GC is their chance to get back on track. Crysis has a chance to textually make a name for himself. Obey is the one to watch though. His wording is improving a lot now, and I think he's about to replicate ILLoKWENT.

Cool. Which battle did you think was the best read excluding your own?

I actually didnt make it through many as the round ended soo early. I thought stricc Vs Dysfunctional was pretty good. Nomad did a good job of shooting for the upset too. I only made it about half way through though so can't really say. I can't read Grizz' stuff so certainly not that battle.

Lol finally, will Erebus ever have a strong tourney run? You almost seem destined to never do so.

Unneeded insult. This is the first time I've went out in the first round, bar my no show last time, so that sucks. My losses are to TopNotch, Jason, Krhyme Killz, PurFekShun and Obey though, so it's not exactly like I've had the worst losses in the world. I'm going to be focused this year. Try and get a lot of battles out. Ask this question again in the next GC.

There you have it folk. Ethbus goes out in the first round, after perhaps his best GC performance yet. The random draw system produces great battles but drops people out tragically early at times. Obey will NEED to be watched after a massive first round victory.




Dys your first round battle was a close one, how do you feel you performed?

I feel I performed above par. I could've come way harder conceptually but i feel I executed everything solidly. Overall I feel i did deserve the W.

Agreed, what do you make of your second round battle with Lockhart?

WAY harder then my first round. Not taking shots at Stricc but Lock is way more seasoned in text then Stricc is. I'm gonna have to come with some of my best shit and really fresh concepts to get by him but it'll BOTR for sure.

It'll be a cracker no doubt. What was your favourite battle of round one?

I got a three way tie honestly between Obey and Eth, Askari and cakedout and Tha Dope Man and OSKAR. The first one was an absolute crack rock and the other two are in my top cuz the underdogs really proved themselves and gave their opponents a run for their money the voting percentages shoulda been closer on those ones

Which 2nd round battle are you checking for?

Besides myself? Grizz and Illo is gonna be crack. Obey and Phe is gonna be another good one. OSKAR and Sub should be good considering Sub's proving he can beat him cuz he's done it before. Solid 2nd round though all around.

Finally, at this point does anyone stand out as a favourite to win the GC to you?

My Dark Horse was Eth but he got beat so if Lock beats me he's gonna go far. And my boy Sub is hungry too so those two if i can pick more than 1 lol & do i get shouts in this bitch shoutouts to Fidel and Punk keep killing em even though one won cuz of no show (fidel I'm talking bout you!)

Dysfunctional picked up a great first round win over stricc. Yes, stricc is a audio heavyweight, not text, but he still is a force to be reckoned with in the text box and this sets-up a very interesting round two battle.




Obie, you went one-on-one with your mentor in an all out personals war. What were your general thoughts on the battle?

I thought it was fuckin intense. We both reached into the closet and pulled out them skeletons for this one. It's all love in the end though, made for an exciting 1st round battle.

Round two gives you a similar kind of opponent. Can we expect the same?

Yeah, me and phe don't talk as much as me and EtH so it won't be anything too crazy w personals. But I'm gonna bring some dope stuff, got an arsenal of bars going through my head rn.

No doubt. Favourite battle of the round? (Excluding your own).

Rican and Grizz material wise, both came nice as hell. But when it came down to closeness and a nail biter? Lockhart and Pockets, was not expecting that.

Yeah that was a sleeper. Finally, has anyone stood out as a possible GC fave at this point?

Whoever wins out of Grizz and Illo will win the GC.

Possibly... possibly. Looking at your probable route to the final, are you still confident you can make it there?

Yeah for sure, It'd make for a better story if I had to take down all these people on my hunt, you know? A better underdog story.

Well the first chapters in the bag, lets see how the story ends. I think the story will continue to build up the suspense, but will the hero save the day? Or will the villian be victorious in the final confrontation? Thats the thing with stories, you never know who they will end.
