It seems that people asking for votes, regardless of how they word it, is still a commonplace on here.

If someone asks you for a vote on a battle through the Letsbeef chat feature please copy & paste this response to them -

I think a lot of people doing this genuinely dont know that its against the rules, so hopefully this message will at least educate some of them. And since this is a site message and not something your saying personally to them it should also stop anyone taking it personal and responding by hate votes etc etc.

Go To Your Battle.
Go To The URL On Top Where It Says http://www.letsbeef.com/fourms/....
Right Click On It And Hit "Select All"
Right Click On It Again Hit "Copy"
Go To The Awards Page Here: http://www.letsbeef.com/awards.php
Request The Reward And In The "Reason" Box Right Click Again And Hit Paste.
Then Request It And Wait 1-2 Days To Get It.

Click on "My LB" at the top side bar. Then click on "My Battles" which will take you to your list of battles. Click on your open battle that you're trying to link. Once you get there....You see that address bar at the top of the page?....The same one that you used to type letsbeef.com into. Copy that and boom that's your link. You may only post that link to the "Text Lounge" and to the "Fair Voters Club" In order to receive votes You can also PM any Green names (Moderators) or Red names (Admins) for them to vote on your battle. You cannot post to any regular member including the FVC
