I just bought a Samsung CO1 condesner mic, its usb (plugs directly into the computer) for about $70 new. It comes with Cakewalk recording software (which appears to cost about $100 alone. I love it and think its a great value for the price. I wouldn't change. Check some of my audio to get an idea of what it sounds like. The software is real nice too.

but RULE said a lot of people swear by this mic..... so it cant be bad haha

i have 2 mic. i also have that one to. here is the picture of the samson.

http://www.zzounds.com/item--SAMC01U, i payed 160$ for the mic, stand, pop blocker, shockmount. and it does comes with a recordin program. all though i do not know how to use it lol.
and i also have this mic. which i think the quality is better. but samson quality is good. but this quality is better vvvvv

yeah the mic the dude said before isnt Samsung, its called the Samson CO1U, its the same mic I use..I got it for about $90 at Best Buy and it comes with a stand, and some recording softwar called Cakewalk but I dont use that...Its really solid, but you need a filter if you want that extra good sound
