Not calling out anyone in particular, but a group of y’all on here keep pushing for V4 not knowing how much funding this site needs just to run it’s servers. Barely any of y’all bought premium (including myself, because I quite literally don’t have a bank account), and the ads are just to keep food on the table.

We should start a kickstarter or summ,

I've been financially exhausted as of lately tbf otherwise I would've bought another premium membership.

A fundraiser has been done in the past and the money seemed to disappear. Giving your money away is not going to change the fact the owner's are completely disinterested in the site, and won't sell it. This is purgatory so best to learn to enjoy it for what it is.

Kickstarter, my ass. X wants to run LetsBeef as a business, so if he needs startup cash he can get one of those SBA loans the Trump administration just came out with. Or whatever the Canadian equivalent is. Plus iirc he works/worked for Google and has the money from selling them another successful startup so it's not like he should be strapped for cash.

Co-sign. A lot of people give other members shit for not "supporting" the site. This is a fucking business, if people aren't buying your shit the answer is simple - do better.

It was one of the biggest disputes when X & Pugz poked their heads out for those two weeks and unbelievably managed to make the site worse. They were intent on blaming the users (customers) which was just incredibly cringy to anyone with a drip of business experience.

You save the donations 'case "SOMETHING HAPPENS"
That aint Penny pinching man that's MONEY GRABBING

LB already had a large donations drive as Pugz was trying to get "Russians to code the site". Apparently 'he got scammed' and the money never got mentioned again. No v4, no upgrades.

If X wanted money, he's been made offers by Pulse and RULE. He turned them down in favour of spending literally 12 years making the same false promises.

my thoughts are this:

i've worked around X and i think i understand his vision for letsbeef, and i think it's a solid place to take it, but, it's up to X to make those moves to get there.

as members and staff of the site, it isn't our responsibility to carry somebodies business into success based off negligence in the first place.

i know i've campaigned the other side of this most of my time on letsbeef, but there's a reason i'm drawing the line clearly here. for starters, most people who promise money to the site, they wind up just looking like clowns when they ghost anyways (s/o auto, tm) or you're legit throwing your money into a void, where you'll have 0% idea of what came of it.

i think X appreciates this site, or the users of the site, and he def has spent the time over the years keeping it going for us, but whether or not he'll ever have the time to invest into this particular business is not likely.

on the other hand, you can at least appreciate the small things that have been done in the past year, and i know that list a fucking huge. take for example, elo rankings.

(but gutttstststtststs ELO ranksinssns suuuucckckckckcckckc)

yeah. they do. because the elite battlers are actually just title thirsty, forum pulsing maggots. lol. i'm not actually calling anyone out, but just simply explaining how elo won't work if the best aren't participating.

but i know first hand the amount of effort X put into implementing the elo system. we may not have v4 in it's entirety but we've been actually reviving bits and pieces of it here.

Lets Beef Track: Forever Mad at Dave (Pugz Diss) - By:

I made all the punches in 2014. Literally every line completely relevant in 2014, okay maybe excluding the Strawberry Gang reference haha.

Gutz, you cunts are just so fucking stupid. STILL on that "we have a crumb, okay the crumb is from bread out if the trash but a crumbs a crumb".

X updating the site isn't a favour to us. WE have kept this site alive. X doesn't know who's in the Hall of Fame, what wordplay is, what Illmania is. He's not here. Hasn't been since 2007. He's already tried to shut Lb down. We've already seen two apparently ready-made versions of V4, each a decade apart, and still absolutely nothing.

X has no interest in LB being any form of a success. He ditched us for Rocbattle in 2007 and hasn't given a fuck since. Besides asking us to pay for his pornhub premium account, he doesn't Interact with LB. Nor does any of our "social media ambassadors". None of them give two fucks about Letsbeef.com. So why continuously try and suck them off?

X should have just fucking realized that one week of interest isn't enough to turn the site around and passed it on to the next man. He gave it to his less competent brother in 2012, so next time just sell it off to someone with an actual interest in Letsbeef as a website.

Fuck, you guys want a kickstarter? How about X gives us a price and we sort a kickstarter to take the site off of him. He refuses to update this literal 13-year old website layout, refuses to advertise or promote, refuses to even listen to battles.

Its fucking 2020. Youtube, twitter, tik tok... we're not even on any of them. They don't care, so sell the website to the members and walk away with a few pounds out of it.

---------- Post added at 08:06 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:51 AM ----------

So you guys wanna give them money right? Let's look into this a little further.

The live battling featured guys not on LB, that didn't battle on LB, and many of whom that don't even have LB accounts. Cool, cause it's a little side venture that Pugz was undertaking himself and it didn't cost us anything.

Or wait, remember when he tried to get TWO THOUSAND dollars out of us on Kickstarter? Bare in mind this is the dude who didn't pay Real Talk, a Hall of Famer, his money and ended up with RT quitting LB. But it's good enough to ask US to front the bill?

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1779265038/letsbeefcom-productions-live-event/posts

Oh, or how about when Pugz started selling official LB merch based on a logo he didn't own the rights to?

https://www.storenvy.com/zademanzarpour

Yeah let's chuck more money at the void. This dude's such an elite massive businessman that he lists his occupation as LB administrator on Linkedin (this is my favourite).

https://ca.linkedin.com/in/zade-manzarpour-74a81a143

Now of course, we're talking about Pugz exploiting LB for profit here. Okay, fair enough that's not X. But X left the site entirely in the hands of his brother, giving him admin rights until last year when he abused them massively and ended up getting every other member stripped. That's how little of a fuck X gives about your precious site. All the other original admins, V, Pseudonim etc. fucking ran away from these incompetent fucks years ago.

You had a good idea 15 years ago. That doesn't let you're the one who's kept this place from being a ghosttown. It was us. It's our site. It's time to sell up and fuck off.

PS. all of the above is visible within 3 pages of searching for Letsbeef.com. Isn't exposing personal info.

i mean, i don't see where i'm not agreeing with you lol. i don't think pugz is some kind of con artist, but i understand that under his direction we lost a lot of potential progress. i'm not going to go into the whole pugz issue, because what we're discussing here is this:

should we pledge money to letsbeef?

answer = not now

and to further upon that, i wouldn't put a penny in until i see a staff that was competent, an active owner engaging with his small community, and an influx of members.

i think we also agree that's not likely to happen.

This. I've made financial contributions in the past a few times, and most recently with this Premium Membership. But Korvus is right. It's not likely the culture here will change any time soon no matter how much money we (the customers) throw at the problem(s).

i can't recall this. X did come back during the time i was mod, and spent like 7 months putting work in on the daily. there's a thread somewhere where he updates changes and you can see for yourself what's going on
