i find that my opinions on this video vary depending on who posts the video

its really weird

I just like the way the interviewer lost any chance of it being an interview the moment he said that shit.

You can see guy tryna worm his way back in and Mike way having NONE of it.

Yeah he WAS convicted of rape. But the way he worded it seemed like he was more interested in getting a reaction/headlines than he was for asking and looking for a legitimate answer from Mike.

I don't condone rape or downplay it's severity but Mike was mad young back then, he was rich he was the most famous boxer on the planet. I don't remember the ins and outs of the case or what evidence they found to find him guilty but he wouldnt be the first person to be wrongly charged or the first celebrity targeted by a woman looking for a quick book or 15 minutes of fame. If thats the case. You can see why he reacted the way he did.

Maybe I just dislike the media. It's always good to see an interviewer get put on the spot.

It's not often you see 1 get get called a rat, told to go fuck himself then questioned the fuck you gonna do? when he trys to say stop we're on T.V.

And I'm not gonna lie I do like Tyson.

I still don't agree with the way he put the question to him.

Again not condoning what he did back in the 80's/early 90's.But his head was obviously fucked and he was surrounded by all sorts of shady people. He obviously wasn't mentally built to deal with that.

It's hard for me to defend the guy without sounding like im excusing him so im not gona bother with that aspect any further

Yeah I know about his comings and goings growing up. The rape, his relationship with Robin Givens. The holyfield bite the gonna eat lewis' children. But I never followed his outside drama in great detail to know the exact ins and outs and I'm sure there's tons of things he did I don't know about. There's rumours of him being the local bully growing up, which I can imagine. The guy was a child in a mans body at the age of 16 who grew up to be a bully in the ring in the heaviest division in boxing so it's not far fetched that he could be a total cunt.

I just loved watching him fight and the drama he could generate.

i would like to respond to Jasons comment above, I couldnt disagree with you more. If you invite someone on to your show and say hey we are going to do this interview your in town and your shows here so you represent the the interview as being a "friendly" one. Which is what that station and interviewer did. Its a win win the station gets more viewers that hour therefor sells more adds and mike gets to plug his show. Everybody wins. Ok then the cameras roll on live TV and the first oppurtunity you have you call him a rapist and question whether he should have met the mayor. Then you have misrepresented the interview and are using the oppurtunity to downgrade Mike on national TV. So no its not ok to do that if thats your motives let him know ahead of time thats all Im saying, Because now you haved used Mike to get more viewers sell more adds and then you take shots at him first oppurtunity. THats whats wrong about this.

whos quoting tyson as scripture? and yes most times in a situation like that interviews are friendly. Like i pointed out both parties get something mike gets to plug his show and the station gets to sell more adds that hour because hes on there. Its called reciprocity. You give a lil sumthn you get alil sumthn every one leaves happy. If thats not the case be upfront and say hey Mike we are gonna say your a rapist on national tv ok, so be ready since we are selling 5 times the adds this half hour that we normally do because "Mike Tyson" is on the damn show. Its not cool just to set people up to get fucked on live national tv then trip when they get a lil fuckn offended and speak their mind.

It doesn't seem like Mike was prepped or knew in advance he would be asked that sort of question. That whole rape situation is something he's probably spent years trying to get over, both legally and in the court of public opinion. In his mind, being asked such a question was probably like having to answer to the rape charges all over again when all he came there to do was plug his new show. Not saying it wasn't a fair question to ask---and the interviewer did phrase it as "some people would say....how would you respond to that" so it didn't seem like he was going at Mike personally. I think other people who know they will always be questioned about some past ordeal no matter how much they try to put it behind might have handled it differently, but Mike's personality isn't of that sort and the interviewer should have taken that into account.

I think he meant A friendly interview as opposed to a serious or deep one.
Not so much the personality of the interviewer himself.

It's common courtesy before an interview to review the kinds of questions you'll be asking. Sometimes boundaries are set up. Clearly not the case here. Mike's response wasn't professional in any way and he should be able to handle himself without blowing up but a blindside question can be off putting as well.

3 witnsses to her kissing Tyson in the limo before they went to his room were denied the chance to testify as witnesses.

If she pulled away from him in the limo when he made his advances on her why did she then follow him to his room at 3 am just moments after she supposidly rejected him?

Only to reject him again when in the hotel room she followed him to after rejecting him already in the limo, walk into the bathroom and take her panty liner off with him in the next room in just his underpants?

Really? Thats your next move? She obviously didn't feel threatened by him and was getting ready to sleep with him and was necking with him in the limo prior. which there were witnesses to, all female witnesses.

a child hood football sweetheart of hers was also denied the right to take the witness stand to testify that she had told her father that he raped her to cover her tracks after they slept together because of her religion and the resulting possible shit storm of sex before marriage.

How the fuck does this man not get to take the stand. That is VITAL key witness evidence which shows her character, possible family/religious motives for accusing mike. Her father would have eventually found out that she slept with Mike. He was 1 of the most known athletes in the world at the time with a nack of grabbing headlines.

Thats reasonable doubt if ever there was any.

Even the jury have reflected on the case years later and admitted Mike didn't have a fair trial and that if the evidence denied HAD been presented, they'd have found him not guilty.

the question was very unreasonable to ask...when you think about it, the relationship between mike and the station was mutual. Mike uses it as a platform and that local channel gets more viewership. so if someone walks into your home willing to shoot the shit with you and answer questions..why disrespect him? i'd take offense to some shit like that too. something that mad ppl let go and the interviewer has the nerve to bring it up
