It all makes perfect sense to be Nas. Nas can't drop an album under NAS due to contract disputes w/ Def Jam. So he releases one under an alias.

I think in all honesty it's not about the exposure, he's trying to bring back real hip hop. I'm sorry, but no one can impersonate someone's cadence, pronunciation of every word, etc.. down to a T.
