USB mics are easy to connect to the laptop/computer but condenser mics which use a separate interface are always better because there is no delay of sound and the quality is much better.

If you are going for an interface-setup,you will need the following-

A condenser mic,probably an AT2050 or AT2020
An interface, probably Focusrite scarlet 2i2 or Focusrite saffire pro 24
A mic chord to connect the mic and the interface
A mic stand
A Pop filter

You will get a cakewalk sonar cd and it's licence with the focusrite interface but yeah you can use your old interface.
