The LBT Championship began its rebirth on the 14th of October, 2013. Since then the first week of the month hosted a LBT battle card. This Tri-annual review will take place three times a year, after four consecutive battle cards.

This period was a transitional one on letsbeef, with all the heavyweights of yesteryear all but inactive. Names expected to lead the charge on letsbeef and the LBT included Lockhart, Dissizit, Victor Mancini & ILLoKWENT who all had impressive performances on the recent text Grand Championship tournament. Black Book, Erupt, Phroxen & AmBitiousFlow are four names who had impressed in the open arena, gifting the LBT with eight strong names to lead the charge.

After the first four LBT cards, a number of textcees stood out as the strongest of the pack, dropping consistantly high level perrformances.

ILLoKWENT (4-0)

ILLoKWENT has been by far the most impressive LBT battler so far. With a flawless 4-0 record, all of them 32 line championship battles. Illo won the championship on the first battle card, and has successfully defended it ever since. His battle with Phroxen was arguably the best battle in LBT history, and his other three battles were all completely one-sided body-bags. ILLoKWENT through the LBT has cemented his place as the absolute best active letsbeef textcee.

Phroxen (1-1)

Phroxen has only competed on two of the four cards of this time period, but has done more than enough to confirm his place as a LBT MVP. His first battle was against the highly lauded Dissizit, who he defeated strongly to secure a title match on the following months event. And it was this battle that showed just how great he is, narrowly losing to the champion ILLoKWENT by a mere 2%, in one of the most debatable heavyweight battles of recent time. Xen's 1-1 record doesnt do justice to the man, who is one of LBT's leading heavyweights.

Fidel Z (3-1)

Fidel started his LBT career near the bottom of the first card, and worked his way up to the a number one contenders shot. Fidel picked up 3 consecutive victories before losing his first LBT battle to GRizzEAT. With a strong 3-1 record, Fidel threatens to continue his winning ways into the future.

Obey (3-1)

Within a time period that saw Obey pick up the Rookie Championship title, Obey also clocked up an undefeated 3-0 record to earn himself a title shot, before losing his first LBT battle to the dominant ILLoKWENT. What makes Obey's run all the more impressive, is that he started on the bottom of the first LBT battle card, and earned a title shot within the next 3 months. Record currently 3-1, and an ever-elevating skill set, expect Obey to hunt down that title shot again.

Dissizit (3-1)

Diss used a powerful performance in the first LBT card, to earn himself a number one contenders shot the following month. However a on-form Phroxen halted his title charge, forcing Diss to spend the next two months re-proving his worth. And when number one contender GRizzEAT's ban ruled him out of his title shot, Diss was the clear replacement. Will he increase his 3-1 record next month with a victory over the champion? Time will soon tell.

AmBitiousFlow (3-1)

Ambo racked up a 3-1 record over this four month period, slowly working his way nearer the top of the card. A possible match-up against Phroxen next month will be the chance for Ambo to prove whether he belongs amongst the LBT elite.

And The Best Of The Rest...

GRizzEAT racked up a strong 2-0 record before being banned, which ruled him out of a title shot. This ban leaves his LBT future in doubt... // Lockhart went 2-2, losing a number one contenders battle and then a tough battle with Dissizit. He remains an upper-mid card textcee who still looks strong... // Black Book has been the biggest disappointment in this period of time, with an unfortunate 0-3 record. Heavy losses to ILLoKWENT and Erupt mean this once lauded textcee his his work cut out for him to reclaim his once great reputation... // Victor Mancini earned a title shot after a victory over Lockhart, but a whitewash loss to ILLoKWENT saw Victor disappear from the top of the card, and he now holds a 1-2 record.... // Enfinite won two battles in a row, before no-showing a number one contenders battle Vs Obey. He hasnt battled since, so whether he displays the promise he once showed is to be seen... // ELOH_STACKz has been the dark horse of the LBT so far, picking up a 2-1 record over three very competitive battles. Eloh is expected to be a force in the months to come.

The LBT Championship Battle
Phroxen (1-0) Vs ILLoKWENT (2-0) (http://www.letsbeef.com/battle_details.php?section=tb&id=470487)
Winner: ILLoKWENT (Via 52%)

This one is a no-brainer. By far the best LBT so far saw the great champion Illo face off with the unique Phroxen, fresh off of a epic victory over reEFer. In a coin flip of a battle, Illo walked out the victor by the narrowest of margins.

The Number One Contendership Battle
Dissizit (1-0) Vs Phroxen (0-0) (http://www.letsbeef.com/battle_details.php?section=tb&id=469054)
Winner: Phroxen (Via 84%)

Phroxen again dropped a Battle-Of-The-Card performance against the highly rated Dissizit. This number one contenders match was a real highlight, with Xen earning the W.

The Number One Contendership Battle
Victor Mancini (0-0) Vs Lockhart (0-0) (http://www.letsbeef.com/battle_details.php?id=467672&section=tb)
Winner: Victor Mancini (Via 79%)

Victor and Lock battled in a close one, both dropping there signature styles in a competitive No.1 contenders match.

Lockhart (2-1) Vs Dissizit (2-1) (http://www.letsbeef.com/battle_details.php?section=tb&id=472008)
Winner: Dissizit (Via 66%)

This top-of-the-undercard battle was a sleeper hit, Diss and Lock both out to prove there worth, and the result was a fine display of punchlines from the two well known textcees.

Dono (1-0) Vs Punk The God (1-1) (http://www.letsbeef.com/battle_details.php?id=472114&section=tb)
Winner: Dono (Via 68%)

A factor that made this battle all the more unique was that the two opponents were actually tag-team partners in the LB Tag Team Tournament. The friends had a great battle, with Dono edging on this occasion.

Black Book (0-2) Vs Erupt (0-1) (http://www.letsbeef.com/battle_details.php?section=tb&id=471751)
Winner: Erupt (Via 78%)

Both textcees entered this battle with much to prove, and went 32 lines just because thats what they do. While the end result was slightly more one-sided than Book would of liked, the quality of the verses did much to revive the reputations of both.

The best card was by far the Fresh Resolutions '14 (http://www.letsbeef.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137717) card that took place in January. 10 battles, 0 no-shows. With Lock Vs Diss, Book Vs Erupt & Dono Vs Punk all impressing, this battle card led the way as far as quality goes. The card was a massive improvement over the previous months card, Gods Gift '13 (http://www.letsbeef.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136529) which although boasting the acclaimed Xen Vs Illo battle, featured 8 no-shows. Overall the four cards were very strong, with standard certainly on the rise!
