Concept Championship.(Tournament idea.)

I bounced this idea off of @NOBLE this evening, and he's agreed to sponsor it with the title "Theme Champion '14."(idk if that's the same color they use for the scheme title, but, you get the idea.) if enough people show interest in the premise. Concept championship is a tentative name, I may use Theme Championship as well. I'd like to host this as an annual tournament, along side the other Sponsored site tournaments.

Basically, this is a similar tournament to the Scheme Championship. However, the difference is this: As opposed to a specific rhyme scheme, both battlers are allotted a general "Theme" for their battle. The idea, then, is to write your verse, using ONLY CONCEPTS RELATED TO THE THEME. For instance, if you were to receive the theme "Comic Books." All of the concepts used, must then, in SOME FORM, relate to the theme of comic books.

What do you guys think, would you be interested?

I don't feel it shows more creativity it all. If anything, for me it already hands the writer the idea.

It gives them a general idea, yes, @Dave. But, the challenge is writing an entire verse RELATING TO THAT IDEA. And that is a difficult task. There are people here who can't even keep a bar relevant to its concept, let alone an entire verse.

I've just never been a fan of them. On facebook thats what a "topical battle" is, so I got coaxed into reading a few and never liked the idea.

I also like concepts. One of the biggest remarks I get on my bars, are about their relevance. I won't be participating in this tournament, as I will be running it, but, that IS what it's all about. Relevance to a given topic.
