Whose hunger grows as first light burns?
Of course the sparrow seeking the worm. 
The sky so cold beneath sound wings,
His belly echoes, yet still he sings. 

Death's song  flees an amber beak.
Small eyes dance for what they seek.
The forrest knows no truer sound,
His prey so captive, held to the ground.

A branch so high holds vision true.
Movements stir, pride envisions food.
Yet death he did not see or escape,
A child squeezes, a bb seals his fate.

Forever falling upon the earth.
It entombs him knowing his worth. 
He's passed his songs into the frey.
A year passes and he decays.

So is life, the winner gets the spoils. 
His life passes nutrients into the soil.  
And who could dirt and soil feed?
Mainly all those who do not see. 

No arms or legs to guide him true,
But who needs that when all is food. 
Who's hunger grows as first light burns?
Of course the belly of the worm.
