What Dreams May Come...

I gaze-across-an-empty-sea, where-the-ocean-meets-the-ragged-sands 
these days-of-loss-have-emptied-me, bearing-broken-dreams-and-shattered-plans 
wearing-open-seams-in-tattered-hands, the vestige of Our Creation fades-to-dust 
I gave-enough displays-of-trust to wager-just a 'Savior's-Touch' 
then tainted-luck made-it-rough and through the flames-of-lust my rage-was-such 
that sadly...the *One Thing* I could never 'Save-was-Us' 
A man-built-of-Gibraltar's-Rock, now a landfill-that-was-all-for-naught 
Yet in my Dreams...I see that you stand-still-in-that-altar-spot: 
your-radiance-eclipses-the-sun, you're-awaiting-this-gift-as-'The-One' 
An Angel on Furlough from Heaven - or-a-lady-depicted-as-one 
so I seize your hand-and-free-your-doubts, fulfill my plans-to-be-your-spouse 
'Falling down on both Knees', cuz it's *you* I 'Can't Stand'-to-be-Without 
If it was fate-from-the-start, then why did Fate put a stake-through-my-heart? 
Now I only see you when I close my eyes and wait-till-it's-dark 
These fading visions-of-a-flower-path slip through the prisms-of-the-hourglass 
with conflicted decisions scripted in the schisms-of-a-sour-past 

Every portrait of words that I spoke, brought-us-to-grow-together 
Every kiss to your forehead, taught-us-to-know-forever 
Every facet of you I cherished, enhanced-this-endless-bliss 
Every day we're apart, I long for one more chance-to-send-this-kiss 

You captured-my-heart-and-soul, but fractured-I-start-to-fold 
this rapture-lies-dark-and-cold, in the empty chapters-I-marked-as-goals 
Now I'm broken-inside and sometimes 'hopin-to-die' as I 'choke-on-my-pride' 
our 'Movie Love' was (Reel) if you'd just Open-your-Eyes: 
That pristine portrait in your heart, you-knew-that-I-had-etched-in-place 
when-we-turned-to-'Sky-Lovers'; the view-through-your-eyes-was-heaven's-grace 
then-eternal-tides-hovered, as the moon-grew-to-light-your-precious-face 
It orchestrated it's great concerto, the 'symphony of our love' once 'played-in-its-beams' 
but fate-intervened in a way-that-has-seemed blatant, with its hatred-and-greed 
it 'awakened-a-'scene' from our nightmares' and has 'Taken-this-Dream' 
You were my Goddess-Aphrodite, but the Gods-sent-wrath-to-spite-me 
I can't 'plod-this-path-so-lightly' when I bear this 'rod-and-staff-inside-me' 
Complications-of-lust-divide-you, while promised-patience-and-trust-abide-to~ 
search the 'stars in your eyes' for the constellations-that-must-reguide-you 
to-choose-the-fan-that-can-blaze-these-lover's-deep-fires-which-fate-wronged 
so that we may once again 'peruse-the-planets-and-bathe-each-other's-desires-in-lake-dawn' 

Every portrait of words that I spoke, brought-us-to-grow-together 
Every kiss to your forehead, taught-us-to-know-forever
